Peer Consultant Work Schedule Request

Due date: Schedule requests for Fall term must be submitted before Tuesday, November 14, 2011.

First-draft schedules will be distributed by email prior to January 1 with updates/changes as necessary until the term begins. We will accept amendments to your request due to changes in your course schedule only until the end of drop/add. After this date, it is your responsibility to find a replacement and changes are not guaranteed to fit your first choice availabilities.

While filling out the form, keep the following in mind: travel time, lunch, time off campus needed for your studies, whether you prefer long days on campus or a few hours on campus, and what your UWC schedule will look like in addition to your course schedule. Please fill in the schedule availability form as accurately as possible. All fields in the schedule grid will need to be selected in order to submit the form.

Weekly Availability
  1. Select "X" for any time that you have class. You will need to select an "X" for any time when the class extends into the next hour; for example, if your class is from 10:00 - 11:15, select an "X" for 10:00 - 11:00 and the 11:00 - 12:00 time slot
  2. Select an "X" for all hour slots before class. Continuning the example above, you would cross out the 9:00 - 10:00 time slot. We ask that you do not give availability the hour before class begins to ensure that you arrive to class on time and that your work with us does not interfere with your classes. Cocoa and Daytona consultants: There may be days when it's helpful to schedule your start and end times on the half hour. Please follow the instructions to allow yourself an hour between any class and UWC time, but if you can work any additional half-hours before or after a class, indicate this above with your class schedule.
  3. Select "X" for any times and days that you absolutely cannot work; for example, not being able to work mornings because of traffic or Sundays because of family obligations
  4. Select "X" for times in which you have other obligations such as: Swing nights at the Big Bamboo, Society for Young Existentialists, etc. Blocking out time can have an inverse effect; extremely limited availability will result in extremely limited hours assigned
  5. Assign the remaining hours available to work as:
    1
    most preferable
    2
    preferable
    3
    least preferable
Note: we will try to schedule within your preference; however, if the demand is present, we may schedule during a least preferable time

Cocoa Only: This form asks only for your availability by hour, but if you can work any half hours at the beginning or end of your indicated availability, please list these days and times here.

Distance Consultations

Because the UWC offers phone and online, as well as face-to-face, consultations, these modes may be included in your schedule. As we do with your hours, we will try to schedule modes that meet your preference; however, if the demand is present, we may schedule a least preferable mode.

Please double check your choices before submitting the form.
